Hi! I’m Ranae. Thanks for stopping by.
I was born in a sleepy little town in West Virginia, and after graduating from West Virginia University with a journalism degree, getting married, and adopting two shih tzus, I relocated to fabulous Las Vegas, NV.
I love to explore my city, the amazing state of Nevada, and wherever else life takes me. I have a National Park pass, a love for Hawaii, and a bad case of wanderlust. When I’m not checking out restaurants and instagramming my food, I’m a freelance recipe developer, and food writer (someone has to edit all these pictures.)
Why should I read your blog?
Because I am awesome and highly entertaining, duh.
No, really, why should I read your blog? What makes you an expert?
Let’s be clear, I am not an expert when it comes to food or travel. I find myself on an airplane usually about 10 times a year, more if I’m lucky. There are people who travel MUCH more than I do, and go to far more exotic places. If I had unlimited funds I would definitely be one of those people.
Additionally, I find myself on a few road trips each year, and LOTS of micro adventures throughout Southern Nevada. Friends and family often ask me for suggestions when they are traveling, and I’ve been on Yelp’s Las Vegas Elite Squad for 2016 and 2017.
Why did you start a food and travel blog?
I’m glad you asked. I have a lifestyle blog that you definitely want to check out if you are interested in endurance sports, or like to cook or craft – www.thesundayfunday.com, but I wanted to focus on the Las Vegas restaurant scene, and travel. Hungry in Vegas is a place to share my adventures, Vegas tips & tricks, photos, and so much more.
Friends and even acquaintances often ask me about places I’ve traveled. They want to know what I did, where I ate, how I planned my trip, etc. and I happy oblige them. Hopefully you will get as much out of this blog, as I have writing it for you.
Safe travels, go seek adventure, and stay hungry, Vegas!
